The Blind Barber

(photo from T Mag blog)

Okay, this is a little too good to be true.  A barber shop where you can get a cut, prices ranging from 20$ - 40$ that...get this, come with a complimentary cocktail!  They also have beard trims, and a hot / cold towel hangover cure.  And to top it off it's gorgeous AND on my street!  I'm going to have to go ahead and get that sex change I've been saving up for... or try to live vicariously by treating my man to a shave while I sip his, erm... cocktail.  OH and of course the house specials are whisky drinks.

"The Blind Barber is a return to the "Roaring Twenties". Defined by the explosion of culture and its break from tradition, the "Roaring Twenties" was a movement in creativity. The Blind Barber hopes to revive this very movement while redefining modern manhood. The concept goes well beyond just a barbershop and bar located in the East Village, but rather expands into all the realms of the modern gentleman: Fashion, Music, Lifestyle, Grooming and others.

We hope to create an identity that will cultivate personalities; a brand and place where creatives come to be inspired as well as inspire others."

"According to Kirsch, who oversees the bar and lounge, house favorites include the Sweeney Todd (Jameson, egg whites, lemon juice and honey syrup, topped with grenadine and served on the rocks) and Rum ’n’ Rye (Overholt Rye, Goslings Rum, lime juice and Orgeat Syrup, served over ice).
